Personally, Thank you for your help, Masden teacher.
I am really glad to have learned a lots of culture things thanks to you!!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH:))

断り方-how to say no-
hi:) I wrote on my blog for a long time.
Today I wanna write how to say no in Japan.
I work as salesperson of clothes at Turuya and help them to choose clothes.
Recently I have something on my mind in that many customer visit everyday.
It is rejection.
Customers try to save money after cristmas and new year, so they turn down our helping.
However their answer is dubious.
For example.....
"I will be back again."
"I look around other shops and come back."
"May I consider?" etc.....
Customer said it will not come again.
Almost japanese customer turn down politely.
I am confused by these answers.
When I'm shopping, I don't give her/him hope. So I don't say like that.
I wanna get reply honestly......
How about your country??
When you turn down, how do you act??

Japanese loves uniform! My friends and people I met in foreign countries told me, when I was in England.
People are junior high school or high school in Japan are enjoying wearing uniform. However people in foreign countries doesn't like uniform. Especially girls seems to bring own clothes and change after school.
I heard about it from my british friends. Is it same as other countries??
Japanese can't work without uniform.
Japanese starts wearing uniform from kinder garden.
People work at clothes shop have to wear clothes are sold at there as uniform.
Why Japanese loves uniform??
In my opinion...
Cooperativeness is important for Japanese. I think there is some of the reason are historic background and that Japan is island country.
Anytime doing together" is basic.
If there is person do difference, people think he/she is strange or crazy.
When I was in elementary school, there was rule to go home toigether after school. It's called "Syudan-gekou".
I found interesting blog is written about Japanese nationality. If you are interested in, please click.
By the way, I have read the book is written about nationality before. In this book,Japanese doesn't like to meet Japanese, when they travel to foreign coutry.
However people are not Japanese like it. When they meet people are same nationality, they will approach and talk to them.
Is it true???

English ver.
There are some different ways to say "IRASSYAIMASE" by restaurant.
For example...
at SUSHI restaurant..."IRASSYAIMASE" sounds like strongly and loudly.
at french food restaurant..."IRASSYAIMASE" sounds like gently.
at Izakaya..."IRASSYAIMASE" sounds like frendly. etc...
but in addition, owner or chef sometimes come to see you off at the door.
Actually, in my izakaya employer and employees see customer off every time.
My American teacher who teach me business English were surprised and impressed at the same time.
Have you ever felt different culture in service at the restaurant or clothing shop???

I extracted several sentences which I had keen sympathy from this book.
-「日本人は物をあげるのが好きな民族-The Japanese are a people who like to give something.-」(P7)
-「イギリスに来る日本人はロンドン塔に何があるかを知っていても、日本の能や歌舞伎や雅楽につい て簡単な言葉で説明する術を身につけていない-The Japanese who come to the U.K. know about what there is in the Tower of London, but they don't know the way to explain about "Japanese NOU", "KABUKI", "GAGAKU" with simple words.-」(P39)

"OTAKU"

English version...
Now "OTAKU" is universal language.
But it is same image about "OTAKU" both in Japan and in another country???
What do you imagine about "OTAKU"?
-wearing glasses
-wearing unfashionable clothes
-carrying girl's doll around
-knowing much about PC etc...
But actually there are many boys and girls who know much about video game or animation and are interested in fashionable clothes.
in this case, they aren't called "OTAKU", are they???

"MOTTAINAI"

"Are the Japanese hard worker??"
I often used to hear that "The Japanese are like woker bee", so I have thought so too.
But it's the old story.
At present, it's period that men and women can work together.
So recently I don't think that the Japanese are hard worker.
When I went to Australia for studing English, I stayed at a family of four.
Father and Mather both work.
Children are elementary school students.
On the weekend, they spent time on going outside or going shopping with family.
In Australia, it seems that every company has holiday on saturday and sunday.
and they thinks "weekend" is for the time to spend with family.
so I used to go out with them on the weekend.
In my hostfamily, hostfather usually have cooked on the weekend.
It surprised me!!!!
My hostfather told me that it is usual in Australia.
Wife make the dinner on weekdays and Husband make the dinner on weekend.
In Japan, it is hard to take day off to take part in the event of the school or take a trip with his family.
And some worker may do them job for this.
i think...
The Japanese meaning of working are "repaying a loan" and "geting a them living" ...
I think they work hard with making many sacrifices.
It seems cause of the present various family problems and social problems.

About "oseji"
I say directly that I think.
When I thought "cute", i say "cute".
When someone admired my looks, I am happy and say "Thank you".
I think "Oseji" is Japanese own culture, but in conclusion it is concerned with personality.
